VISION:-
To teach English language for communication through English literature.

MISSION:-
To create an awareness of English language as language of Universal Communication.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES:-

• To develop English language as a means of communication in everyday life of the student.
• To understand and focus moral values reflected in various forms of English literature.
• To motivate the students to read English literature for pure pleasure.
• To prepare the students to face the linguistic needs of various job opportunities.

Programme Name – Bachelor of Arts

Learning Outcomes:

• The students will exhibit a commendable level of expertise in English literary studies, contemporary literary theory, English language usage, and pedagogy.
• The students will showcase mastery of the discipline by adeptly characterizing, instantiating, and critically evaluating major theories, methodologies, and practices in the field of English studies.
• The students will command both written and spoken academic English, demonstrating a high-level proficiency in literary and language research.
• The students will demonstrate refined critical and analytical skills in the interpretation and evaluation of literary texts.
• The students will analyze intricate issues, synthesize information from diverse sources, and effectively communicate ideas using a variety of formats and technologies within related areas.
• The students will skillfully develop pertinent research topics, judiciously select appropriate research materials, and produce well-developed pieces of original research adhering to discipline-specific writing conventions.

Departmental Activities- 2021-2022

• On 16/03/2022 the department organized student and faculty exchange programme at Govt. College, Khandola Goa. Dr. Mavis Rodrigues gave a lecture on Communication Skills in English. 8 students were participated in this programme.
• On 16/03/2022 the department organized student and faculty exchange programme at Parvatibai Chougule College, Madgaon, Goa. Dr. Andrew S. Baretto gave a lecture on Use of ICT in Teaching English. 8 students were participated in this programme.

Departmental Activities- 2022-2023

• On 25/03/2023 the department organized student and faculty exchange programme at Shri Pancham Khemraj Mahavidyalay Sawantwadi. Dr. B. N. Hiramani, Dr. Shirsathe gave a lecture on English Literature. 6 students were participated in this programme.
• On 25/03/2023 the department organized study tour at Caluangute Beach, Miramar Beach and Dounapoula Beach Goa. 8 students participated in study tour.
